World Wide Mountain Guide Useful Information  

Booking

  • Validated by an instalment of 25% of the amount of the climb or trip, by check or money transfer, paid to the order of World Wide Mountain Guides
  • One month prior to the date of the climb or the trip, a payment equal to 50% of the total amount is required.

Payment

  • The remaining balance is settled on site, before departure, in the case of a course in the Alps (or another trip abroad)
  • The remaining balance of the trip is to be settled 30 days before the date of departure, in the case of courses abroad.

Cancellation

On your behalf :

  • 30 days before the course in the Alps, World Wide Mountain Guide will reimburse you, except for 100 € (paperwork fee)
  • 30 days before a course abroad, World Wide Mountain Guide will reimburse you, minus the cancellation fee (30% of the price of the course abroad). If we find a client to replace you, we will refund you the total amount (minus the paperwork fee of 100 €)
  • less than 30 days before the course in the Alps, World Wide Mountain Guide will reimburse you, minus the cancellation fee (30% of the price of the course). If we find a client to replace you, we will refund you the total amount (minus the paperwork fee of 100 €)
  • Less than 15 days before the course in the Alps, World Wide Mountain Guide will reimburse you, minus the cancellation fee (50% of the price of the course). If we find a client to replace you, we will refund you the total amount (minus the paperwork fee of 100 €)

On our behalf :

In case of an insufficient number of clients, the course will be cancelled at the latest :

  • 7 days before departure for a course in the Alps
  • 20 days before departure for a course abroad

Supervision

  • The High Mountain Guide, UIAGM, is the only judge to decide to carry through with the program or to modify the scheduled program. According to the mountain conditions, the physical abilities and techniques of the clients, the guide can propose a replacement program. Supplemental expenses will be the responsibility of the client.
  • The interruption of the stay, on behalf of the client, will not allow any reimbursement.

Responsibility - Insurance

  • Responsibility: Each client should adhere to the advice and orders given by the High Mountain Guide in the Alps or abroad. The client should be conscious that there may be risks involved due to local conditions (roads, communications, distance from hospital, police formalities, health, delays, etc...) The client assumes risks of any type and will not engage the responsibility of the guide.

  • Civil Responsibility: In accordance to the regulations which govern the profession of the High Mountain Guide, this one is bonded with a Professional Civil Responsibility-Liability Insurance. However, the client should subscribe an individual medical, accident and emergency insurance.

Assistance

  • To overcome the consequences of an accident, we advise you to be attentive to your personal insurance and assistance contracts.
  • It is indispensable to subscribe to a bonded, multi-risk insurance including repatriation during the course of your trip, medical expenses, etc....particularly adapted to stays in the mountains.
